About Us

The American Chamber of Commerce of The Bahamas (AmCham Bahamas) is registered as a Non-Profit Organization in the Commonwealth of The Bahamas.  AmCham Bahamas’ purpose is to promote business, trade, and cultural relations between the United States and The Bahamas.

AmCham Bahamas was established in 2019 and currently has 23 member companies. Our members are American and Bahamian firms and businesses who are interested in pursuing and promoting business opportunities between the two countries. Through oversite and direction from the Board of Directors, various committees organize activities, such as breakfasts, luncheons, dinners, happy hours, seminars and conferences to educate our members, assist in networking, and represent the business community’s interests in developing public policy.

Mission

To promote trade and investments between the United States and Haiti through free trade, free markets, and free enterprise.

Purpose

To further American commercial and other interests in The Bahamas and neighboring countries.  To support and encourage American-Bahamian trade and business.  To provide a business, social and policy forum for its members, and to strengthen American-Bahamian bonds of friendship.

Amcham Bahamas serves as a reliable source of information on regional trade and investment issues, a critical point of communication between the Amchams in the Carribean, members of the US Chamber of Commerce, and the US government. Amcham Bahamas serves as a facilitator for developing business friendly public policy  between business and government leaders in the United States and The Bahamas.

Advocacy

In close consultation with, and guidance from, The Association of American Chambers of Commerce in Latin America and The Caribbean (AACCLA), an office within the US Chamber of Commerce (the world’s largest business federation), AmCham Bahamas is the business community’s voice and advocate for pro-business public policy with the United States and Bahamian governments.
